An exciting weekend is likely for Highclere as the stud will be represented by several fancied contenders in the forthcoming Classics.
These are led by the long term hot favourite for the Group 1 Investec Derby, Camelot, the 2,000 Guineas (Gr.1) winner who was raised and consigned as a yearling by the stud, selling to Demi O’Byrne for 525,000gns.
The second favourite for this Epsom Classic is Bonfire, whom the stud bred in partnership with Floors Stud as well as consigned. Recent winner of the Dante Stakes (Gr.2), this colt was purchased by John Warren Bloodstock for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing at Tattersalls. Bonfire is trained by Andrew Balding who has another entry for the Derby in Minimise Risk, also bred and consigned by Highclere Stud.
In addition, Highclere is represented in the Epsom Oaks (Gr.1) with the well respected Vow, winner of the Oaks Trial Stakes (L) at Lingfield for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing. This Motivator filly was consigned by Highclere Stud and purchased by John Warren Bloodstock from Tattersalls for 60,000gns.
Good luck to all the connections!
