The stud and staff are managed by John Warren and Lady Carolyn Warren, and their son Jake, owners of Highclere Stud.

Rachel Spindlow

Rachel Spindlow - Stud Manager

Rachel, an exceptional horse woman, has worked with horses from a young age and has competed show horses at national level. Her experience with thoroughbreds began at Highclere back in 2005 where she spent three years as a yearling foreman. She then spent eight years at Littleton Stud in Hampshire where she started as Foaling Manager before being promoted to Stud Groom. Her attention to detail combined with her expertise in breaking young horses make her highly accomplished at preparing yearlings for the sales. Rachel has led the team during a successful year in 2017 where Highclere again were leading consignors at the Tattersalls Part One Sale.

Adrian Pett

Adrian Pett - Broodmare/Foaling Manager

Adrian has worked with horses all of his life having grown up on a farm and competed in dressage and show jumping. He gained his previous experience with thoroughbreds at Old Buckenham Stud (2004- 2009) where his ability and conscientiousness saw him rise through the ranks to be Stud Groom- a position he filled for 2 years before taking the Stud Groom position at Wattlefield Stud (2008-2016). Adrian has endless experience foaling mares, managing their fertility and handling young foals and we are delighted to have him on the team.

David Nevin

David Nevin - Stallion Man

David, is an Irish National Stud graduate with a degree in agricultural. He has a wealth of experience spanning 30 years within the thoroughbred industry. He was at Moyglare Stud for five years and went onto working with the stallions at Lanes End Farm in Kentucky and more recently he spent 10 years with trainer J S Bolger. David joined Highclere in 2017.

Kirsti Windsor

Kirsti Windsor - Senior Stud Hand

Kirsti has been passionate about thoroughbred racing all her life; she started out at 17 years old on a national hunt stud farm and riding Arab racehorses. Kirsti then took herself all over the world gaining valuable experience within the industry including time spent with Andre Fabre, Kildangan Stud in Ireland and Dubai. Kirsti has spent several years doing UK sales and Stud work before joining Highclere Stud in 2016 and now looks after all the new-born foals up to their weaning stage as well as helping us at the Sales.

Tracey Hutt

Tracey Hutt – Senior Stud Hand

Following school Tracey went straight to work at Burley Lodge Stud, Berkshire where she gained experience of all aspects of stud life. Tracey then joined Kingwood Stud where she gained further experience including sales preparation and looking after horses out of training and rehabilitation after training injuries. Tracey has also spent time showing Connemara ponies of her own at National level. Tracey returned to Highclere after doing yearlings and rehabilitation work at Raffin Stud for 10 years. Tracey now is working with the weaned foals through to rearing the yearlings and helping with Sales preparation.

Danielle Millar - PA to John Warren

Prior to setting up her own outsourced admin services company in 2010, Danielle worked as a PA for various senior executives. Danielle joined the Highclere Team in February 2016.

Donna Hayman

Lorraine Shipton – Book Keeper

Having worked for the last 15 years book keeping for a clinical research company and an IT company Lorraine joined Highclere in June 2014.

Keith Knowles

Keith has been at Highclere Stud since leaving Zimbabwe in 2002 where he owned and managed a large farm. His land management and maintenance skills are second to none.
