24th January 2022

Highclere Stud are hosting a stallion and yearling parade on Tuesday the 8th of February 2022 alongside a competition to win a free nomination to Land Force or Cable Bay.

The event, held at the stud, will showcase Land Force and Cable Bay and feature a selection of yearling stock by Galileo, Kingman, No Nay Never, Night of Thunder, Sea The Stars, Cable Bay and Land Force.

“Anybody is welcome to join the parade, it will offer an insight into the commercial breeding industry with a broad spectrum of topics discussed throughout the day with likeminded individuals. We very much look forward to welcoming fellow breeders to Highclere Stud for what should be a very enjoyable day.” Jake Warren

Drinks will be served at 11am, proceeded by the parade at 12pm and lunch at 12:45pm. Visit our ‘Events’ page for more details on how to attend the parade and enter the competition.

Cable Bay had a brilliant 2021 represented by the multiple Gr.1 placed and Commonwealth Cup first-past-the-post, Dragon Symbol, as well as Liberty Beach, the winner of the Gr.2 Temple Stakes. The future looks bright with his most exciting crop of yearlings on the ground this year where he covered 100 mares at £15,000 stud fee. Meanwhile Land Force has started his stallion career very strongly with his first crop of foals selling for 65,000, 60,000 etc. to Con Marnane and Alex Elliott, whilst also ranking number one on the Racing Post’s Profitability Index for first season sires. Land Force has been well supported by breeders, covering 155 quality mares in his first year and 118 mares in his second year.

Highclere Stud have historically been producing high class stock all over the world and have been well represented in recent years being the breeders of Palace Pier (World Champion Miler and Cartier Horse of the Year) and Coolangatta (Winner of the $2m 2022 Magic Millions 2yo Classic). Highclere Stud has also been the breeding ground of other Champions such as Camelot and Postponed who were bred by leading owners Sheikh Abdullah Bin Isa Al Khalifa and St Albans Bloodstock respectively, and recent consignors of Domestic Spending (Triple Gr.1 winner in the USA).
