DERBY winner Motivator, sire of recent Prix de l’Opera heroine Ridasiyna, will relocate from the Royal Studs to Haras du Quesnay in Normandy next season. A fee of €7,000 has been set for the ten-year-old son of Montjeu, who will continue to stand as the property of a syndicate.
“I am delighted to receive Motivator at Haras du Quesnay,” said Alec Head, owner of Haras du Quesnay. “He has done so incredibly well in France and I am sure he will be a great asset for French breeders and very popular.”
The Aga Khan’s Ridasiyna has progressed rapidly through the ranks this season for Mikel Delzangles, winning four races culminating in a three-and-a-half length victory over Izzi Top in the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp last time out.
Motivator has also been represented in France by Skia, the winner of last year’s Prix Fille de l’Air, and Listed winner Lumineux. His best runners in Britain include the May Hill Stakes heroine Pollenator and this season’s Princess Elizabeth Stakes winner Clinical. In all, he is the sire of 30 stakes performers from four crops of racing age.
Motivator was trained by Michael Bell to win four races including the 2005 Derby, by five lengths, and Dante Stakes. The Highclere Racing colour-bearer was also successful in the Racing Post Trophy at two.
