Telescope, purchased as a yearling by John and Jake Warren, ran his heart out on Saturday to finish second in the King George and was beaten fair and square by the very brilliant Oaks winner Taghrooda who was carrying 15llbs less weight than him. Telescope got the better of the Gr.1 Eclipse winner Mukhadram and in so doing maintained his remarkable record of never having finished out of the first two in all nine of his starts.

Postponed adds to list of Stakes Winners purchased by John and Jake Warren when he broke the track record winning the Listed Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton last week. He will now be aimed at the Gr.2 Great Voltigeur at York next month.
East India, sold by Highclere Stud on behalf of Franca Vittadini’s Grundy Bloodstock, won an important 7f maiden at the Curragh on Saturday, a race won in the past by the likes of Teofilo, New Approach and Australia. East India is out of Gr.1 Prix de la Foret winner Field of Hope and is half brother to four individual Group and Stakes performers. He was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for £650k at Tattersalls Book 1 Sale last year.
As the season reaches its halfway point Paco Boy’s progeny have got off to a fantastic start. The most notable performer to date has been Beacon who easily triumphed over a field of Ascot 2yo’s in the Listed Dragons Stakes at Sandown recently. The excitement continued following Beacon’s success when Paco Boy secured a high class double during July Week consisting of Lexington Times winning a nice maiden at Newmarket over 7f and Maljaa winning a similarly competitive maiden at York over 5f.
At the moment Paco Boy has a number of very highly rated 2yo’s such as Beacon 103p, Smaih 96, Peacock 95p, Maljaa 92p, Lexington Times 88p, Pack Together 83p etc and has only had a small number of runners on the track compared to many of his first season rivals. He currently sits higher than Galileo, Shamardal, War Front, Dubawi, Exceed and Excel and Oasis Dream in the list of top sires of 2yos in Britain and Ireland.
The next big race excitements to keep your eye on this week will be:
Pack Together who is set to run in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown this week, a race won last year by Majeyda who is currently officially rated 103 and finished 2nd in the Gr.2 May Hill.
Peacock who is set to run in the Listed Winkfield Stakes at Ascot on King George Day this Saturday, a race won by the likes of Toronado and Ravens Pass.
Beacon will be aimed at either the Richmond Stakes Gr.2 or the Molcolmb Stakes Gr.3 at Glorious Goodwood next week.
