Group 3 success for Motivator

2005 Epsom Derby winnerMotivator enjoyed more Stakes success this year when his daughter, Ridasiyna, won the Prix Chloe (Gr.3) over 1m1f at Chantilly on the weekend.

Trained by Mikel Delzangles, this three-year-old filly maintained her unbeaten record having comfortably landed the  Prix Melisande (L)  at Maisons-Laffitte earlier this year, following up her debut win.

Bred by her owner the Aga Khan, Ridasiyna is out of the winning Darshaan mare Ridafa, a half-sister to the  dual Listed winner Rajik.

Camelot triumphs in Irish Derby

The Highclere Stud reared and consigned, Camelot, maintained his unbeaten record to triumph in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Gr.1) at the Curragh last weekend despite the testing conditions.

It was his third Classic success in a row, having comfortably won the  Investec Derby (Gr.1) at Epsom and   Qipco 2,000 Guineas (Gr.1) at Newmarket earlier this year.  Trained by Aidan O’Brien for  the team at Ballydoyle, Camelot  had previously cruised to victory in the Racing Post Trophy (Gr.1) at Doncaster as a two-year-old, and may   have the Triple Crown as a future  target.

Camelot  was the most expensive yearling by Montjeu in 2010 having made 525,000gns at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 when knocked down to Demi O’Byrne.  Bred by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, he is out of the Kingmambo mare Tarfah, who won the Dahlia Stakes (Gr.3).

Joviality lands Gr.2 Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot

The Highclere Stud and Floors Farming bred, Joviality, gamely won the Windsor Forest Stakes (Gr.2) last week at Royal Ascot for owner HRH Princess Haya of Jordan.

Trainer John Gosden said:  “It was a thrilling performance. She wants a mile to a mile and a quarter, so there are some nice races for her like the Nassau Stakes and the Prix de l’Opera.”

This was Joviality’s second Group victory having won the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York last year.  A four-year-old by Cape Cross, Joviality  was also consigned by Highclere Stud at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales realising 200,000gns when knocked down to Blandford Bloodstock.  Out of Night Frolic (Night Shift) she is a half-sister to Bonfire, winner of last month’s Dante Stakes (Gr.2).

Motivator progeny continue winning streak

Ridasiyna continued the winning streak for Motivator progeny with an easy  5l victory in the Prix Melisande (L) over 1m2f at Maisons-Laffitte in France last moth, following up her comfortable debut win.

Trainer  Mikel Delzangles said: “That confirmed her good debut, she’s won easily and we can go up in class again with her.”

This three-year-old filly was bred by her owner the Aga Khan out of the winning Darshaan mare Ridafa, a half-sister to the  dual Listed winner Rajik.

In the last month Motivator has also been represented by Princess Elizabeth Stakes winner Clinical and Oaks Trial scorer Vow, as well as Dahlia Stakes runner-up Captivator, Braveheart Stakes third Creme Anglaise and Cocked Hat Stakes third Perennial.
